Volvo Badging

posted by Kent admin in Uncategorized

Volvo has announced a series of enhancements and additions to its range for the 2011 Model Year update.  One of  these new engines, already available to order, is the two-litre five cylinder diesel powerplant which is introduced to the Volvo XC60 and Volvo XC70 models and replaces the familiar four-cylinder 136 PS unit in the Volvo C30, S40, V50, C70, V70 and S80. As part of Volvo’s new engine classification and to clean up Volvo’s engine badging arrangements, all new engines will be badged depending on the power output.  The purpose of this is to allow customers to more easily understand which engine is the most powerful and which fuel it is driven by.

The SKIDZ Hillingdon Project is an exciting new motor vehicle project that will enable hundreds of young people across the London borough of Hillingdon to develop their passion for motor vehicle maintenance and safer road usage. The courses give teens aged 13 to 19 a chance to gain vocational skills in motor mechanics in an adult work-style environment so that they have a better chance of finding future employment.  Porsche has been closely involved in the project, providing a three-year investment donation of £375,000 specifically to help the SKIDZ charity develop this London based branch. More than 120 students are expected to enrol in the new Hillingdon road user education project this year.

In the highly competitive hybrid market, Lexus is one of those brands you know you can rely on to keep its nose just ahead of the competition. In terms of the full hybrid GS 450h, the company has introduced a series of styling, technical and equipment revisions that make the car even more marketable in the premium saloon market. It has rationalised the model line-up into two equipment grades – SE and SE-L – and introduced new exterior colour choices, including Vanilla Mist, Richmond Green and Atlantic Blue, alloy wheel designs and interior trims.  On top of this there are new safety features – for example both front seats now have inflator-operated active headrests, which are activated by a signal from the ECU should the car suffer a rear-end impact.

Audi A1 – ‘augmented reality’

posted by Kent admin in Uncategorized

For many people buying a car is one of the most expensive investments they will make and everyone wants to be completely sure about what it is they’re signing up for.  Well the futurists at Audi have given a whole new meaning to try before you buy by introducing their ‘augmented reality’ for the A1.  The augmented reality is software that allows consumers to take a 3D look at the new model before it even arrives in showrooms, giving more of that valuable making up your mind time. Potential customers can explore every side of the car, expand, contract, roll forward and backward in relation to a webcam that is used with software.
